9w8 INFP and no I wouldn't trade my P for a J but oddly enough I think I learned MORE about myself through the Enneagram–I had people tell me they were sure I was a 4 and I was kind of resigned to being a 2, but when I found out I was a 9, I suddenly understood so much more about my longings and also, the boxes that I was trying to put myself into (the helper) and the people around me were trying to put me into (the creator) when in my heart, I was developing into the peacekeeper/advocate.
The 8 wing doesn't pop up much, but there's this ENTIRELY different side of me which manifests in the gym and I think that's the 8 wing.
I still don't quite know what to do with it. I'm doing creative work which I like but doesn't fulfill me and the Enneagram result helps me understand why. Recently I've been thinking about learning hypnosis and doing past life regressions. I have a textbook on how to do hypnosis.
I don't know any 9s in real life (I know one person who might be) and here they're coming out in droves. It feels like certain personalities are definitely attracted to certain things. Not that I think arenas like this are barred from the Sensing types, but Intuitives seem to show up far more.
