12 Years a Slave was a really good look at a part of our (recent) history that we tend to sugarcoat. No punches pulled and very beautifully filmed.

idk about in your country but where i'm at u can check out any movie u can think of for free from your local library. if the local library doesn't have it they order it from another

u just order online, then they tell u how many people are ahead of u, then u get an email alert when it's arrived & is ready for pick-up (or u can get your stuff delivered for free)

It's about the journey of one soul experiencing different lives, it was kinda confusing because different actors play the part of that one soul as well as other charactes and there are different plot lines. I can understand why someone would loose interest in it, but I really enjoyed it. I rented it out a few months ago and I would highly reccomend it.

La Belle Vert. A independent french movie, no special effects whatsoever (I don't think they had much money to shoot the film). The bit when they ask for voluntaries to come to earth to check up on us is very funny.
A bit weird but it still makes me think every now and then.

watched "mao's last dancer" the other night. it's really good, imo - mainly, bc it's based on a true story. those are my favorite

today i watched "immortal beloved" which chronicles the life of the infamous classical composer ludwig van beethoven & loved it

"amadeus" i watched a while ago. that's a really good one too imo. it's the story of wolfgang amadeus mozart

it was about 32 bucks in Aussie dollars. Which would probably translate to 30 US dollars. That sounds like a lot, but an adult ticket to just a normal movie is about 20 dollars.

everything is very expensive in Aussieland. We get paid more, but also everything costs more (compared to USA). A lot of Aussies try to save up as much as they can, and then move to a cheaper country and live like kings. Similiar to what many Americans do by retiring to Costa Rica.

I watched Into the Wild, which was a fantastic movie. I would say more about it, but I can't even say what emotions I felt during the movie without spoiling it. It definitely deserves to be in the IMDB Top 250 of all time. I can't recommend this movie enough.

I also watched Gravity last night which was pretty decent. I actually didn't hate Sandra Bullock for once. Tongue

it's nothing great, but just well done. A bit corny, but I got some good laughs out of it. It knows what it is, and doesn't try to do more.

when I first saw that, it made a HUGE impact on me. Many Wanderers, I am thinking, will be able to associate with the story.

    amazing film.
