Lose how? By martyring oneself? Living as a pauper? Being persecuted? Alienated? Miserable? While some individuals program these types of lessons for their own reasons, or stumble into them due to a lack of wisdom or unforeseen circumstances, they are not equivalent to personal growth, nor necessary to its production. He who can envision a reality in which both the individual and the whole can experience joy and abundance has the potential to draw it into being. This is the great power of the Will. Indeed, these types of unpleasant situations invite us to show ingenuity and creativity in how we might change them, and that produces a tremendous amount of growth.
Confidence stems from having something higher than public approval driving your actions, thus you act regardless of how your actions are perceived. It combines the shield of Faith with the sword of Will, the feminine receptivity to spiritual resources with the masculine projective vitality. Thus the positive master of the yellow ray is crystallized and balanced in regards to his reflection in society, acting with detachment towards outcomes yet missing no opportunity that arises. He knows he has his Faith to fall back on if he fails, yet also has the Will to utilize the rewards of success, thus in any situation he comes out the winner.
Being called a loser by others is an opportunity to prove them wrong. Calling yourself a loser is making it so.
