Being STO doesn't HAVE TO make you conventionally unsuccessful necessarily, but if your particular STO path leads you to an image that is frowned upon by society, the best way to handle it (I suppose) would be to look at whatever underlying beliefs you have chosen to adopt which would cause this to bother you and change them. Easier said than done, I know (and I'm still working on that myself) but it does seem to be the best thing to do. After all, you're worth however much YOU decide you are worth, not anyone else.
