Remember, Jesus was so popular that the masses were following him around even when he wanted to be alone. He was only killed because the religious authority of the time felt threatened by his massive popularity, and it was his choice to allow his death to be a symbol for something greater.
Beyond that, balanced lower rays tend to eliminate the concern over what people think of you in the first place. I learned a long time ago that if you do things in confidence without giving a damn what people think, people will tend to respect that and get behind you, whereas they will often subconsciously pick up on signs of insecurity and mirror them, i.e. if you think yourself incapable you will be treated as if you are incapable. I had to withstand a lot of abuse before I realized these patterns were emerging from the personal thought that I was garbage. Once I started respecting myself more a different sort of person started entering into my life. These days I get along very well with almost everyone I meet, because I believe myself to be a likable person.
I just want to point out here that Jesus was popular and killed for the wrong reasons in which he did not believe. Don’t forget that his disciples were hoping to have a “kingdom on earth” and the people that killed Jesus were afraid he wants to have his “kingdom on earth”. He talked over and over about his father's kingdom and everybody at the time understood that kingdom was on Earth.
This is the reason Ra is so concerned about how information is processed. Even today Jesus is followed by most for the wrong reasons.
This illusion is important indeed but not for how confident you are in your incarnation or how of a winner you are perceived to be, but for how much you grow while here. If I understood something from Ra is that in order to win in the bigger picture of creation you almost certainly must lose in this illusion.
