I've been using cannabis on and off for most of my life, for the most part it just makes me calm and helps with anxiety (unless I smoke too much)
Other stuff I've done in the past:
LSD: I've done a LOT of acid, for me the experience is kind of intense - usually with lots of confusing visuals. I always found it really difficult to figure out what I was looking at when I was tripping. Lots of cool fractal patterns in everything and colors moving around through the world.
Mushrooms: I've done less mushrooms than LSD, but the experience to me was better. Usually lots of cool visuals, and a sense of perpetually being lost. Mushrooms are the only substance I've done that managed to get me lost in my own home.
Adderall: I used to do a lot of adderall, it was my favorite substance for a big chunk of my life - I would usually get really introspective and start drawing or writing. It had a very strong body buzz for me, my skin would be tingly and I'd feel really comfortable and obviously extremely energetic.
Cocaine: The best and worst drug in the world IMO. When I was high on it, everything was AWESOME. I'd love everything and have so much fun just talking about dumb stuff with friends. The come down is like the exact opposite, complete and devastating depression. Also it would make me really hateful towards my friends if I thought they had some and weren't sharing. I gave it up because of the come down and how it made me feel so angry when I didn't have it.
Opium: I would occasionally do this with friends, I always liked the taste of it. Usually we'd smoke a bunch and just lay around, not very interesting.
I've tried lots of other drugs as well but only once: Heroin, methamphetamine, various prescription pills - they just weren't for me and I never tried them again. I didn't inject the heroin because needles give me panic attacks, we smoked it with cannabis and it was just like a mild opiate effect. Meth seemed like a dirtier, more intense version of Adderall.
I managed not to really become addicted to anything with the exception of Nicotine. I am still currently hooked on Nicotine, but I'm ok with that.
