Hi eric,
Without a specific quote to give that phrase context in your post, I'll say that broadly the essential work of 3rd density is the transformation of personality toward increasing love and acceptance of all that one encounters. Doing this consciously speeds up the process. For instance, becoming mindful of nonloving/nonaccepting thoughts when they arise, and doing the excellent exercise Quo always recommends of finding love in that moment and circumstance. Identifying unhelpful patterns of reaction to particular catalyst (the things that "get our goat") and consciously working through them to change those habits of responding. Living consciously is living mindfully and with intention, rather than reactively.
Ultimately, we are spiritual beings; spiritual beings have just one ultimate goal: to evolve, i.e., to polarize. Therefore everything that happens is ultimately only catalyst, that is, a choice being given to us and a response provided by us. The Universe keeps asking us the same question, over and over and over, in many different forms: "do you choose love? What about now? What about now?"
At the end of a lifetime, what we get to take away with us is only the treasure we've managed to mine from the ore of 3rd density: the sum total of the loving choices we've made.
