I've asked myself the same question when it comes to ego. I think feeling powerful is not the ego we are trying to avoid. I think feeling a sense of superiority over others is more of the ego we are trying to avoid. I think confidence in oneself that is independent of comparison to other selves is key.
For me, a big issue concerning my yellow ray was not feeling guilty about wielding power and feeling powerful. Feeling good about power, even loving power, as another aspect of the One Creator, is something that I'm happy to say that I think I'm finally internalizing!

At work, I can become completely involved with a patient as far as getting to know them and their problems and talking them through the particular exam. But when it comes to striking up a conversation with a stranger outside of this comfort zone, I go completely blank on what to even talk about. This even extends to people I work with within the hospital but not within my own department. I just can't think of how to begin any type of conversation
I'm particularly lacking in the confidence issue when it comes to meeting a woman. I've been told I'm a decent looking guy but I don't want to allow it to go to my head so to speak and I feel as if I use my looks to woo a woman, I'm using it in an STS sort if way. I'm definitely not looking to simply get laid as I've never really been the promiscuous type (though it would be nice lol). So I've told myself that its not only for my betterment but a potential joined pair where we both gain something but I'm still stuck at hello so to speak.
