I was reading about this yesterday and was thinking about posting it here, but I'm not really sure where the "zombie" thing comes into play. The way I understand it this process is being used to make copies of cells that can be kept for analysis indefinitely as well as creating silicate copies of cellular structures for use in nano-scale application. Seems like an interesting step towards developing medical nanotechnology, but I don't see the zombie connection
