Zombie Apocalypse - BrownEye - 07-18-2012 Tetrodotoxin is known to be used for Haitian voodoo zombification. A zombie (Haitian Creole: zonbi; North Mbundu: nzumbe) is an animated corpse brought back to life by mystical means, such as witchcraft.[1] The term is often figuratively applied to describe a hypnotized person bereft of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli. Midazolam, marketed in English-speaking countries under the trade names Dormicum, Hypnovel, and Versed, is a short-acting drug in the benzodiazepine class. The anterograde amnesia property of midazolam is useful for premedication before surgery to inhibit unpleasant memories. In susceptible individuals, midazolam has been known to cause a paradoxical reaction, a well-documented complication with benzodiazapines. When this occurs, the individual may experience anxiety, involuntary movements, aggressive or violent behavior, uncontrollable crying or verbalization, and other similar effects. This seems to be related to the altered state of consciousness or disinhibition produced by the drug. Both Midazolam and Tetrodotoxin block sodium channels. MDPV affects sodium ions as well. Yet more evidence that our capitalist overlords have our best interests at heart ![]() RE: Zombie Apocalypse - kdsii - 07-18-2012 Why 'zombies' all at once? Doesn't make sense. There are worldwide reports of assholery every day. But, is this really what's making people instantly de-evolve? Damn. Where are the compounds you mentioned in this? Seems so harmless. "Ingredients: Sodium Chloride (Sea Salt), Fragrance, Glycerin (Vegetable Glycerin), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, FD&C Yellow 5 Lake, FD&C Blue 1 Lake." (Fox News) One man, Neil Brown, of Fulton, Miss., got high off the bath salts and then slashed his face and stomach. He survived, but authorities said other people have not been so lucky. In Brown's case, he said he had tried every drug from heroin to crack and was so shaken by terrifying hallucinations that he wrote one Mississippi paper urging people to stay away from the advertised bath salts. RE: Zombie Apocalypse - BrownEye - 07-18-2012 The bath salt link is facetious. I was joking with the wife about the Versed drug being synthesized from the Haiti stuff and she received a message connecting the new GMO mosquitoes to this zombie ruckus. While the Tetrodotoxin-Mizadolam link was easy to see, the only link I could find with the modified mosquitoes was a bacteria. Still, the "zombie" technique being used to keep you docile and agreeable during surgical procedures is funny. ![]() RE: Zombie Apocalypse - AnthroHeart - 07-18-2012 And here I thought that zombies fed on human brains. RE: Zombie Apocalypse - kdsii - 07-18-2012 Scary that a substance that can do that to you is available commonly... Jeez... THIS is what Fox's news article was about. A new mother has been charged with smoking the powerful synthetic stimulant known as bath salts two days after she gave birth, while still in the maternity ward of a central Pennsylvania hospital. Online court records don't list an attorney for 31-year-old Carla Murphy, of Altoona, who is charged with aggravated assault and various drug counts for allegedly stripping naked and fighting with staff at the Altoona Regional Hospital on June 17. She faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 8. RE: Zombie Apocalypse - Monica - 07-18-2012 OMG versed is some scary s@#%! Your timing is uncanny, Pickle. Just a couple of weeks ago my son had to have some dental work done and they wanted to give him versed. Naturally I researched it beforehand, even though the doc said it was no big deal. Well HORRORS!!! I was appalled at what I found! http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=18654&name=VERSED Most people probably do fine with it but the people on this forum posted their horror stories - 15 pages' worth of horror stories! This stuff sounds like a bad acid trip! Needless to say my son opted for a local painkiller only. At first the dentist didn't want to do it because he's so accustomed to always sedating his patients, but we insisted. (And he put it in writing too that he didn't want versed.) It all turned out ok, but I'm so relieved that I found the discussion forum about it, and avoided a potential bad experience. Wow, some of those stories are really creepy! And to think they give this stuff to children and even babies too!!! (shudder) RE: Zombie Apocalypse - BrownEye - 07-18-2012 I had it once, but i was fully conscious. My "will" never left. It is interesting what doctors will talk about when they think nobody will know. Others I know were in the zombie state. Fully awake and spewing memories, with no memory once they came out of it. They describe it like a switch being flipped and they were "off", then suddenly switched back on. The description was much like Ambres description of "takeover" channeling. I found something odd with pharmaceuticals quite some time ago. Came across a christian author that found the same thing. Weird that more have not figured it out. Did you read any of those accounts posted in that forum I linked? some of those people were fully conscious, and disassociated, some to the point of thinking they were dead, and remembered it! Some even felt the pain too but were powerless to communicate anything to the doc. Some felt violated afterwards, and even suicidal, for weeks or months afterwards. Bad acid trip!! Please elaborate! RE: Zombie Apocalypse - Richard - 07-19-2012 Some people will do "anything" for a buzz, unfortunately. I remember when the thing was 'licking toads" back in the 70's and 80's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychoactive_toad That seems to have died down thankfully...or maybe its still ongoing and its no longer reported...who knows. Doesn't seem like its a thing for a long term habit. Richard (07-19-2012, 01:05 AM)Pickle Wrote: Pickle...LOL...spot on! My wife and I stopped at a local drive thru and picked up a couple of soft drinks and onion rings (not a healthy day...but good one, nonetheless, lol). Over at the outside tables is group of high school kids. Now when I was that age, if there was a table like that, we'd have been loud and boisterous and extremely talkative. All these kids this time (7 of them) had their heads buried in their phones. No one, apparently, speaking to each other except to look up and grunt. Oh well....thats the way things are these days I guess. Richard RE: Zombie Apocalypse - Sagittarius - 07-19-2012 Dam I guess it's finally happening, I guess that zombie bashing club I made in the 6th grade will finally come in handy. Guess it's time to start stocking up and head for the outback. Btw I mentioned to a friend that the only connection I found between the Haitian zombies and gmo mosquitos was a "vibrio" bacteria. So my friend sends me a story on the zombie ants with vibrio bacteria in the description. Pretty weird stuff LoL! The way I understand it this process is being used to make copies of cells that can be kept for analysis indefinitely as well as creating silicate copies of cellular structures for use in nano-scale application. Seems like an interesting step towards developing medical nanotechnology, but I don't see the zombie connection ![]() RE: Zombie Apocalypse - BrownEye - 03-11-2013 |
