My girlfriend has had a nasty cold that laid her out for a solid week and a half. I've been gorging myself on vitamins and fluids to keep the bug at bay seeing as how being laid up that long would have a big impact on my work. On saturday, however, I was on the set of a little independent film being shot in town helping out with lights and could feel the aches coming on. Next day was full blown sneezing, runny nose misery.
So I thought I'd do a (poorly designed) self-expirement and took the time to meditate four different times yesterday for about 30 min each and held the intention/question/request of healing as best I could.
Today I feel great. I've stopped sneezing, I have energy, etc - it's like I'm not sick.
Obviously there's no way to know, but I'm wondering if the meditations did it. I reduced my cold time by like 9 days compared to my girlfriend. Would it be more likely that this was a placebo effect? If so, who cares - I would've still 'healed' myself. Or maybe my immune system was just more prepared for the fight, entirely possible.
Either way it got me curious what techniques everyone here uses for when they get sick and what kind of results you guys get.
