Kicking a Cold. Possible? - Ecz - 01-30-2012 My girlfriend has had a nasty cold that laid her out for a solid week and a half. I've been gorging myself on vitamins and fluids to keep the bug at bay seeing as how being laid up that long would have a big impact on my work. On saturday, however, I was on the set of a little independent film being shot in town helping out with lights and could feel the aches coming on. Next day was full blown sneezing, runny nose misery. So I thought I'd do a (poorly designed) self-expirement and took the time to meditate four different times yesterday for about 30 min each and held the intention/question/request of healing as best I could. Today I feel great. I've stopped sneezing, I have energy, etc - it's like I'm not sick. Obviously there's no way to know, but I'm wondering if the meditations did it. I reduced my cold time by like 9 days compared to my girlfriend. Would it be more likely that this was a placebo effect? If so, who cares - I would've still 'healed' myself. Or maybe my immune system was just more prepared for the fight, entirely possible. Either way it got me curious what techniques everyone here uses for when they get sick and what kind of results you guys get. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - Eddie - 01-30-2012 I've had the same result. I used to suffer terribly from colds and other respiratory infections; a cold that someone else would have for three days, I would have for three weeks, and have to miss several days of work. I managed to catch one every Christmas for about 20 years. Then I started meditating a few years ago. Now I very seldom catch a cold, and when I do, it only lasts a couple of days. Fish oil (in large quantities) and fresh greens are a great help too. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - Monica - 01-30-2012 I definitely think meditating on any illness or challenge can affect it by getting to the root of the catalyst. All things are catalyst! You must have had great strength of spirit to accomplish what you did! Whenever I've been sick, my meditation usually wasn't very effective because I felt bad. So I commend you for pulling that off! There are also a lot of physical things that can be done too. The most important is to alkalize. Avoid heavy fried foods, meat and most especially, dairy, because they are mucus-producing and will exacerbate the conditions that allow the virus to thrive. Secondly, alkalize your body by eating lots of fruits and vegetables, juicing, and drinking alkaline water. You can check your body's pH by getting those little paper strips and testing your urine. It should be 6.75 to 7.0 first thing in the morning, then between 7.0 and 7.5 the rest of the day. Anything lower than that is acidic and colds (as well as cancers and other diseases) thrive in acidity. I used to get several colds per year + bronchitis for 3 weeks, and haven't had even a cold in 4 winters, since I've been alkaline. Thirdly, get lots of sunshine during the summer, and in the winter take extra vitamin D. If you get sick, take extra vitamins D and C, + Echinacea herb for the immune system. You did great to get rid of it with meditation alone! Some of us might need some physical help too, in some cases, so this stuff is good to know. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - BrownEye - 01-30-2012 It works. My personal system involves asking if I have a bacterial or viral pathogen. Then I ask that it be neutralized. Sometimes it is hard to move forward with progress using concepts like stop, block, or kill. I am also moving towards the term "transmute" as a way to "use" things we are not happy with. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - Oldern - 01-30-2012 Actually, it works. I had just the same situation. My girlfriend caught a cold. Was in bed for a few days. I knew that I will catch it (this part was me creating the sickness for myself as well, because it was not a virus, therefore I could have just NOT get sick, anyway), but I knew that with my current mindset, it wont take too long. It was one very, very hard day. My immune system is kinda scary because every time something happens around my nose, nosebleed (side effect of warfarin intake, sadly, but I am meditating on it :D), tooth pain ( a lot of my tooth in one area had the nerves removed thanks to the damages, and the gum sometimes get swollen there and I cant eat for a day or two) and headaches are bound to come as well. It was one intense day of pain, but I refused to give up yoga and meditations, and I acted like it was nothing. I could not actually get any sleep, but I rested assured that my higher self and me will figure something out. Next day, I inhaled a lot of camille and my friend wanted to come over to talk about his issues... and I was like..hm, I should be resting. But then it hit me, what is the point of me being here if I cant help a friend? I told him to let us take a walk, and I have went out with him and sit on a bench, absorbing the Sun as much as possible. After that, I immediately felt a lot better - due to both by helping him and accepting the Logos's love. I was a bit skeptic, honestly. I believed that I destroyed and weakened my body so much that I am not for one who can recover fast. But I am gaining back a lot of what has been "made lost" to me - by me :D And nowadays, I just know that I will figure something out :D RE: Kicking a Cold. If you don't mind, I'm curious to know what your process is for sending/receiving information from any guiding-type entities. I'm sure it's something that takes practice but I've found that any time I try to disseminate clear information from an outside source during meditation I'm unsure as to whether it's simply me answering my own question or if its an actual answer. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - BrownEye - 01-30-2012 Maybe you should lay down ground rules for your meditation. Like "only Source may answer" or "only accept/receive an answer from my Group". I only meditate for fun. I can't easily get to the right state to "hear" a lot. Although I am getting better at seeing. I am more into building tools to help my progress. I guess it is similar to the alchemical process. After using the training wheels (tools) there comes a point where they are not needed, in the same way that Ra states that ritual is not needed. It does however get you to the point where you "know" it works, then you find that it works by your mind/intent. What is cool is getting it to where it is automatic and you don't need to put as much time into it. Meditation creates a feedback loop. There are other methods of feedback as well. Many people choose a method they are most comfortable with. I chose what was easy to me, then optimized it. It should help you with realization, but will not carry you forever. Realization is like people telling you there is a bullseye painted on your forehead. You may believe them, but the point of realization is the moment you see yourself in the mirror. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - ocean50 - 01-31-2012 I'm just getting over a cold myself. I was on a flight last week and let the sickos get to me. Anyway, I like to meditate/visualize each breath/inhale as love and light entering my body. The beautiful love and light filling my entire being, every heart beat pumping love and light to every cell. I let go and release on every exhale. Sometimes letting go of something specific, sometimes just letting go. I invite the angels, my spiritual guides, and all other appropriate beings of love and light to assist in the healing during the meditation/visualization. I know, trust and believe that they are helping heal me on all levels. I also give Reiki to myself. All this is better to do proactively instead or reactively of course. Lots of fruits and veggies! All of this truly helps to minimize any type of sickness or avoid them completely. RE: Kicking a Cold. Possible? - zack231 - 01-31-2012 Yes I have done this aswel one when I was very sick with a cold for weeks. I decided hey why not meditate on it! And I could not believe it when I woke up and my child was all better! |
