My original thought would not have applied....
I would chalk this up to a desire to be bold in faith of spirit accompanied with a lingering reluctance to experience body complex pain or reluctance to imagine loved ones experiencing body complex pain.
I'm not one to think I can skip over the pain part. I like to look just over that necessary part to see that, maybe, my existence carries on. (ball of light or whatnot)
For anyone who is resistant to the idea, there are many near death experience stories to indicate leaving the body is easy. Some look down on the operating table and witness what we might consider disasterous. ..... Although, for counter argument's sake, they do endure all the pain that goes along with recovery when they choose to return to the body. They claim it's worth it. Well, not all, some beg to stay.
