Ha no doubt, I usually read the instructions after I've assembled the barbeque.
About 20 years ago when I was going thru the TI 'ordeals', I told a friend that I thought I was losing my mind and perhaps was schizo. He then said something to me that was completely out of character, and what I only realized years later was one of many temporary 'walk-in messagers, he said "you aren't crazy, you just need difficult challenges to keep you motivated". In the context of our conversation it was completely incongruent, and it only made sense years later (basically I had to go thru hell and back and survive). That line was repeated to me a couple of different times/variations from people who had no business saying such things, but were acting as temporary channels/guides without ever knowing it. I've received dozens of such messages and advice over the years from people who were completely not aware of it, most in short form, some occasionally in long form. It took a long time to understand that both 'angels and devils' were doing this.
In my case I don't so much believe it's necessarily about 'bonus difficulty points' but rather a price of admission.... we'll see if that's the case.
