There are several factors in obsesity. Since the advent of genetic engineered foods and the chemical additives of MSG and Cornsyrup as well as plastic toxcity, restriction of calories and exercise is simply not enough.
Here is what is working for my family and I.
Changing Eating styles:
Restriction of all wheat and gluten products
Restriction of all GMO foods (as best as one can they are in everything)
Restriction of all Canola (rapeseed) oils [GMO's again]
Restriction of all lactose products
Restriction of all high arginine foods
Restriction of all sugars, artificial sweetners
Avoidance of all products packaged in clear plastic (plastic bottles, salad trays, take away trays)
Restriction of all salts.
Avoidance of all soy products[ almost all soy currently in food is a GMO and Soy is not digestable unless it is fermented such as naturally made and fermented tofu, tamari soy sauce and tempeh)
Avoidance of all MSG, Corn Syrups, Food Additives. Anything with any type of chemical or artificial additives.
Switch to small plates that are not made from a for food arranging. Avoid plastic utensils, bowls, plates, and cutting boards. Switch to small portions. A rule that we go by is what ever we think is a portion cut it in half and see if still hungry. Eat only when truly hungry.
Increase high alkaline foods eaten especially raw. Such as raw and fresh fruits and vegetables, leafy greens. Organic is best but not always possible.
Increase in using herbs and spices to flavor foods
lean proteins that are naturally derived and additive free.
Small amounts of hard cheeses
Braise foods in water. After cooking use raw fats such as raw butter, olive oil or ghee to flavor foods.
Gluten Free grains and breads and seeds
Use only coconut milk for cooking
Increase Vitamin B2-12 and Zinc and mineral sources. Such as Kobutcha tea and taking a quality whole foods derived vitamin
1000 Mg of high quality independently tested and deemed mercury and heavy metal free fish oil.
Drink more water from the tap or bought in a glass container. Avoid all plastics
Exercise at least 20 minutes a day to the point of heart rate increasing.
Diets do not work. What does work is changing the relationship that one has with food. This often involves changing life habits and adopting a new style of eating and relating to one's environment.
I bless you all with Love--
