Its also an interesting thing to note that if the negative path doesn't have a green or a blue ray active, then how do they function in 4th and 5th density?

I think the only criterion to function/exist in a density is to have the red-ray active for the relevant physical vehicle.

As for the 'learning', I think the physical vehicle repreents the interface between the density energies ('the rays'), and the interpretive function ('the energy centres').

One can learn the ways of self-love (4d and 5d negative) without having the heart and throat centre open.

It also brings into question - just what exactly is blue ray - if the negatives can function without it.

In the past, blue ray has been associated with communication. It's also been paired with wisdom.  5d negatives are not without wisdom. (so blue ray can't equate totally with wisdom).  

So I would say that blue-ray corresponds to deep-level structural comprehension of the nature of the Creator.  Such understandings can only be founded in green-ray comprehensions about the commonality of all beings and entities.  The negative entity denies and rejects green-ray, and isn't open to everything in the deep mind.  It is highly selective.  Think about how the Lovers Card differs in each path:

Many use the trunk and roots of mind as if that portion of mind were a badly used, prostituted entity. Then this entity gains from this great storehouse that which is rough, prostituted, and without great virtue.

Those who turn to the deep mind, seeing it in the guise of the maiden, go forth to court it. The courtship has nothing of plunder in its semblance and may be protracted, yet the treasure gained by such careful courtship is great.

The right-hand and left-hand transformations of the mind may be seen to differ by the attitude of the conscious mind towards its own resources as well as the resources of other-selves.

Without being able to see the common roots in consciousness of all beings (green ray activation), one will never be able to comprehend the cohesive structuring of existence.  You are not opening yourself up to the data (the collective roots of mind).  

So I would say that blue-ray, in it's most generalised sense, speaks to unified, ordered structuring provided by the Logos.  A negative entity denies this, and asserts it's own undominated and uninfluenced beingness.  It is the one which asserts it's complance on reality; not the other way around.  It is open to all experiences (red ray), but it is applying a dominance filter on it's experiences, so that the common roots are all but obscured.  Hence deactivation of green ray (commonality between all beings), and blue ray (collectively structured existence).

That's my take anyway
