The 3rd density perspective. Just as looking outwards automatically and reflexively engenders the reality of inwards (else how would look 'outwards'?), seeing the world from a seemingly separated vantage point reaffirms or validates the reality of experiencing it as a separate object.
Not being able to truly imagine unity could also be termed a kind of resistance to unity. If the only thoughts we are capable of imagining are thoughts of separation, and that is all we've ever known, it is quite the feat to then activate thoughts of unity instead.
