I remember when University of Louisville Associate Professor Donald Elkins told his Physics class that in the next session he would tell us the best way to prepare for final exams. In that session he spent about 40 minutes finishing up the last academic topic for the quarter, then said that the class is formally over and anyone who would like to go now, may do so. I didn't look around and count, but maybe three people left.
Then he gave the only (that I recall) lesson in meditation, although he didn't use that word. I posted his instructions here before, so for now I will say that, over time (years off and on) I took this seriously and got pretty good at doing it.
Once I realized how powerful a tool for preparing for finals meditation was, I embraced it enthusiastically. Because he didn't use the M word, I never thought of the practice as being spiritual in nature. I took it as a form of self-improvement only.
I was privileged to become friends with Carla and Don (Jim came along years later) and visited one time after Don had stopped teaching and was away on his career of airline pilot. Carla said that he had decided to investigate the practice of White Magic. That surprised and disappointed me because I had just thought of him as being on the cutting edge of UFO investigation, which to me was a hard science. This despite my, by then, sitting in on the channeling of Hatonn and others by Don, some of the students with whom he had experimented, and Hal Price. ( Seems silly in hindsight.)
Anyway, after some conversation with Don and Carla, I saw that this was a sensible progression on his part. I didn't follow suit with him because he obviously didn't seek an acolyte and wouldn't teach something that he had not gotten fully comfortable with himself.
The above quote from Q'uo is very good instruction in the white arts and I copied it to a Word document for further study. I think that most of us here need not be overly concerned with risking anything, but better safe than sorry. You can be well onto the STO path without going into this subject. Consider it as an option if you are interested.
