I Tend to pray for specific things.
I know that all things in general are "okay" at all times. But I may pray for things like "I wish I had a tasty dinner today" etc.
I consider it application of magic (will) for the purpose of bringing about the desires energy state to jump to the next catalytic question.
IT isnt praying in the sense that "oh gosh I hope this randomly happens" but more along the lines of praying in the sense of "I hope my astral companions know that this would be appreciated, favor will be returned at a time of your choosing which is enabled by my rediculously open sense of self so you may use me for a "reasonable" return so that this happens, assuming it causes me or my friends/relatives etc. no actual harm"
Kind of like "If you need any of this excess loosh I have stored around you may take a part and munch on it, assuming it doesnt hurt me and that you do what you said you would do."
That way I've slowly established contact with this "nexus" of communication with the spirit world directly, I dont force my friends to be aware of it, only their higher selves need to be, and since they are always aware of it anyway how my friends choose to react to my offer makes me know much about them.
