the amazing power of prayer - norral - 04-18-2013
lately i have been moved to pray more and more. for protection, understanding, compassion, to become more like the christ. the more i pray the better and happier i feel. it just seems to work like that. when we pray we enter into spiritual realms, we invoke spiritual assistance and our vibration is raised or that seems to be my experience. and there is nothing that we cant bring to prayer everything is on the table. just some thoughts here. it is a tool to assist us in our journey.

Ra spoke of it as an aligning of the will, and I find by praying it does many wonders. I don't pray to a certain god, but rather to the all of the creator/creation.

I'm a big fan of prayer. I've shared with you before that I was raised as a Christian, and although my personal practice of "Christianity" does not follow any particular "religion", I do still believe that I found all of the teachings of the Law of One in the bible.
One of my favorite sections is Thessalonians 5:16-18: "16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is [the Creator's] will for you in Christ Jesus."
and if you combine that with the story in Matthew 22:35-41:
35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the [Creator] with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
So simple. But so profoundly complete.

yes i was raised in the episcopal church. i have always been fascinated by the bible and get a lot out of reading it. like u ruthie i dont practice a conventional form of christianity, i believe in the living christ and in becoming the christ in action. and prayer certainly assists us in that effort. what i am not is an absolutist . the sacred writings of every religion are meant as a guide imho and that is what i use them as. we take them in and then we add our own unique twist to what we have read. that is how spirit evolves i believe. things didnt stop 2000 years ago and christ is just as alive today and present as he was back then. and he looks to work in us and thru us is the way i interpret it.

like for love, peace etc.
or also for "personal" wishes?
like if you ask for something to be achieved..
lately I did not feel really connected in prayer. It was as if everything had already been said if that makes sense...
as if the universe was like "we all ready know, duh"

I Tend to pray for specific things.
I know that all things in general are "okay" at all times. But I may pray for things like "I wish I had a tasty dinner today" etc.
I consider it application of magic (will) for the purpose of bringing about the desires energy state to jump to the next catalytic question.
IT isnt praying in the sense that "oh gosh I hope this randomly happens" but more along the lines of praying in the sense of "I hope my astral companions know that this would be appreciated, favor will be returned at a time of your choosing which is enabled by my rediculously open sense of self so you may use me for a "reasonable" return so that this happens, assuming it causes me or my friends/relatives etc. no actual harm"
Kind of like "If you need any of this excess loosh I have stored around you may take a part and munch on it, assuming it doesnt hurt me and that you do what you said you would do."
That way I've slowly established contact with this "nexus" of communication with the spirit world directly, I dont force my friends to be aware of it, only their higher selves need to be, and since they are always aware of it anyway how my friends choose to react to my offer makes me know much about them.
In a way I pray for honesty.

I pray for 'things' on occasion, but I have a Taoist philosophy when it comes to prayer; sometimes I should yield to the Tao instead of fighting it, and thus conform my will to the will of the universe instead of trying to make it the other way around. If I feel something is in the Tao than I will pray to reinforce that particular issue. Mostly I pray for understanding and wisdom, and receive as much as I pray for.

I like to say the "Our Father" prayer because it covers just about all the topics I want it to: Daily sustenance for body, mind and soul, forgiveness and protection from temptation to stray from my path.
I don't pray for specific things very often though

For me prayer is almost like channeling the creator. I'm opening up the channel so that whatever needs to is free to flow in or flow out.

i pray for both. general stuff like the liberation of the planet and specific stuff like help in the affairs of daily life. the beautifull thing about prayer to me is the only limitations on it are the ones we put ourselves. the angels who take these prayers and bring them higher up the ladder dont care what we pray for. it could be cosmic or it could be personal. they do answer every prayer of that i am convinced. and praying a lot makes me feel good in my body. very good . peaceful would be the best way to describe it.

I don't pray much as I hadn't seen myself as a religious person. But prayer is more than religion, so it doesn't make me religious to do so. Prayer works to make me feel better when I'm feeling down. I don't have to say much, just a few positive thoughts. When things are going worse, it then takes greater prayer to make a difference.

i definitely pray for all the librarians on this planet, especially those located in munich
. life would be a lot less fun without books thats for sure . so may god bless all librarians , all teachers and all those who help the youth of this planet to open their minds and be more loving and kind there is nothing more important in my humble opinion than helping children in one way or another.
