The idea reminds me of the the idea prevalent in some churches even today that all who die will lie in the ground until some point in the future when they will be resurrected in their bodies on a particular day.
Perhaps it is not the fact there is a cut of point that feels wrong but the negative connotations you associate with it are wrong?
A cut-off point implies that we function inside a structure called "time" which is real and valid. However, as Ra (I believe) implies, time is really a "distortion." Therefore, any "cut-off point" would have a limited reality. This is my take on it. As I see it, everything is up for grabs except the ultimate reality of The One.
In this forum we are lovers of philosophy, theology and physics, to a large degree. All of these things are fun to talk about. The ultimate reality, apparently, is beyond the ability of the 3rd level brain/mind to experience, and must be experienced directly at another level.
This is my take on the idea of "cut-off points." They are fun to talk about but ultimately untenable. In the same way, Jane Roberts argues that Jesus was not actually crucified except in the non-physical planes. She also says there are many, many parallel realities. Which ones have "cut-off points"? Which ones have crucifixions?
