Announcing Homecoming 2011, Aug 26 - 28May 17, 2011

Each year we gather to participate in a curriculum of spiritual study. More fundamentally, however, we gather to open ourselves to a group dynamic of shared personal and universal energy. Reviews of Homecoming are always rave, with attendees amazed by the ease of relating and the sense of immediate kinship/“home” felt among the participants who arrive from all over the country, and occasionally, world.

Study:

In Homecoming’s past we used the symposium format and the focused meditation. In the former, attendees were allotted a block of time to share their thoughts, feelings, essays, and experiences on any spiritually oriented subject close to their heart. In the latter, as the name indicates, we were like magnifying lenses turned in cooperation to the sun, collecting and shining the light one-pointedly upon the truth of our being, generating power, illumination, and service in the process.

Symposium
: This year we will again use both formats. On the symposium side of things, each in the circle will be given the opportunity to creatively share something with the group. The attendee may read an essay aloud, play or sing a song, whip up a PowerPoint presentation, enlist the group in Riverdance (not recommended), or demonstrate their cooking prowess by grilling vegetables and salmon for the group (recommended).

If you would like to be an exhibitionist and give the circle a bit of Mick Jagger, or would prefer a more quiet, considerate approached, there is no wrong answer because you are who you are, and this is what we are interested in – you and your self-expression. The basic criteria is that your presentation must in some way be related to spirituality/philosophy/personal growth, and of course not be heinously offensive to other attendees. Within those parameters the possibilities are limitless.

After the conclusion of the presentation/essay/song/moonwalk, the circle will ask questions and provide feedback to each attendee as we dig down deeper into the attendee’s subject matter, unless what you shared is titled “Not Digging More Deeply Into My Topic of Choice.” In which case we will sit in awkward silence.

The time allotted to each person will depend on the number of people offering something. In the past, blocks of time have ranged anywhere from 25 – 40 minutes per person.

You are not legally bound to participate and it is perfectly okay to opt out of giving a presentation in order to sit back enjoy the vibes - not everyone prefers sharing in a group and no tally is kept regarding who shares vs who doesn't - but we do encourage your participation as we love hearing from everyone in the circle of equals. Albeit composed of human beings, the circle is exceptionally non-judgmental, and the environment totally supportive. We gather in the back portion of the small sacred grounds on which L/L Research rests. Green nature surrounds us as we relax into the easy and welcoming atmosphere of radiant love.

Meditation: We will intersperse the symposium portions of the weekend with focused, and sometimes guided, meditations. Our objectives will include entering the silence, communing with one another, and using our combined battery to send healing energies to the planet and those suffering entities upon her surface. Motivating our meditation is the need to embrace beingness. It is our understanding that in so doing, we raise our own energetic vibration and subsequently – and of necessity – lighten the planetary consciousness. We feel that this is always helpful in the third-density environment, but is especially needed at this juncture in our collective experience.

Additionally we may have a Q'uo channeling on Sunday depending on the state of Carla’s recover from her surgery, and we may also spend Saturday evening down on L/L’s aspiring bio-dynamic farm, Avalon. This is to-be-announced.

A note about Carla: As many of you know, on April 15th Carla underwent her second major spine surgery within the span of a year. While Carla’s recovery is moving along, it is happening more slowly than was initially anticipated. Her current energy reserve for the day is easily depleted – forty-five minutes using her laptop can wipe Carla out.

Due to the low-energy situation, Carla will participate very little in the 2011 Homecoming. She will need to sequester herself during the majority of the event in order to protect and conserve her limited energy stores. Carla will endeavor to spend as much time as possible with the group – she hopes that healing between now and then will increase her capacity to be with the circle – but in all probability we will not see very much of Carla. She however welcomes you enthusiastically and absolutely insists that Homecoming goes on.
