A well-done treatment of the findings of important, responsible research into certain intriguing electromagnetic phenomena involving the evident capacity (originally unexpected and certainly unplanned) of modern communications/recording technology for detecting/mediating the EMF-field manifestations of intelligent minds, ostensibly discarnate:

The better researchers have generally anticipated and worked around and past the debunker-friendly syndrome of logically plausible mundane causes of such phenomena (i.e., from random radio/TV transmission interference to outright fraud).
Admittedly, to those familiar with the demanding protocol of fine-tuning on the part of the very complex and variable human receiver (namely, the tri-element antenna configuration comprising Carla, Don, and Jim!) involved with the hi-fi reception of the Ra's highly-complex-content, narrow-band transmissions, this type of communication is (for all its high-tech mediating paraphernalia) relatively lo-fi and wide-band, involving data itself perhaps not of the highest quality of source or content. But it certainly is important in that it provides an opportunity for more flexible-minded, less culture-bound scientific investigators to broaden and deepen the current paradigmatic scientific model using evidence generated through replicable ways and means well within the bounds of the current received model.

Inevitably, in a geekish-tech version of the inexorable draw of a sort of capitalismic Rule-34 of commodification, we have such things as:

Incidentally, two quotes from the wonderful "Blackadder" BBC comedy series seem to me to be awfully apropos to the seeker's quest (scientific, spiritual, or any combination thereof), in regards to a fruitful flexible-minded and humorously tolerant self-referential attitude to the possibility of deeply-ingrained crucial limitations in one's own perhaps culturally-induced hyper-rational, hyper-materialistic starting point:
[scene: Army HQ, safely removed from the grinding hell of the British Front, circa World War One]
General Melchett: "So you see, young Blackadder didn't die horribly, after all."
Lieutenant George: "If he DID die, sir."
Gen. M.: "That's the spirit, George! If nothing else works, then a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."
-----BLACKADDER GOES FORTH: "Private Plane" (1989)
[ditto]
Private Baldrick: "I think I can explain, sir..."
Captain Blackadder: "CAN you, Baldrick?"
Pvt. B: " [embarassing thoughtful pause] ... No."
------ [DITTO] "Corporal Punishment" (1989)
