Yes this is very true. What would have been more correct for me to say is that this method implies a certain... style of action, a way to move and be which radiates love and gratitude through even the smallest action.
The context of which I said that this is not contemplation is through the lens of how others were framing it - they were implying that this is some mental exercise and for me it is much more than this.

This is truth. We are all made of the same energy down to the very atom and quantum form we are made from.
As an exercises, I would rather thank and be thankful for everything I have and am I contact with. It's because everything you see, touch, smell and hear is because something else before it created it. From the dust to the air to the trees to the animals to you.
I think it would a more wise use of time to serve other selves and be thankful for everything rather than try to serve material objects with a very low level of conscientiousness. I could see someone taking your advice literally and try to serve their blanket and chair. Maybe they were created to serve us and we should be thankful they are apart of our lives.
Meditating and feeling yourself merge into everything around you is a great exercise though. I do this often.
You're very welcome.
I am not necessarily suggesting that one seek to serve so-called material objects, but that one realizes that all is alive, that the universe is essentially one being, and with this realization to radiate love and gratitude with all of your being, and letting every action be an expression of this, as much as is possible.
The reason that I have framed this as an exercise is so that one may, for a variable length of time, attempt to live in such a way that you describe, and if they find value in it, then they can make it a lifestyle. This may also be understood as an exercise such as the one you explain as well; the only limits to this method are the limits one places on it.

I agree with you completely.

There is a legend, of Navajo origin I believe, of a woman who spoke with an old and wise tree which shared with her the mysteries of the universe. It is a very beautiful legend and I feel that it may actually be true.
