is the name of a docu on hbo. people in oregon have the right to end their lives if they feel the quality of their life is so bad they dont want to continue. quite touching actually. i believe one should have that right instead of being endlessly hooked to machines and being totally helpless. going out with dignity makes sense to me. hanging around incapacitated and helpless is such a bummer to me anyway.

In Europe this exists to a certain degree in Switzerland, as far as I know

My husband and his family had to deal with this when his Dad was hooked up to machines despite having a "do not resuscitate" order on file with the hospital. |
