If you will look at the video where you can hear what is caught on these masks, that you are subjected to and breathing IN wearing one in non-sterile areas, the perspective might change.
The benefit is in not focusing on one pathogen alone. There are many floating around and they get caught onto your mask.
You breathe them in. <--damaging yourself in an avoidable way.
