I've been thinking about the death penalty heavily for around 3 months now due to playing that simulator I sometimes mention here. No matter how good it would be for the state I just cant bring myself to accept giving the death penalty and what would be the same time logical step of unlimited abortion rights. I just cant do that I feel lifetime inprisonment without parole would do the same thing and for the few criminal who continue their activities of crime through prison we could do solitary confinement for life, just, not taking a life, its such a darn risk we hit the wrong guy or worse yet, we use it for a form of racially motivated justice like seems to often happen.

So my optimum state wont have the death penalty no matter how I swing it. Thought I'd share.

I don't know but the afterlife is supposedly pretty good so I'm not against death penalty.

What about euthanasia for chronically sick patients with no chance of recovery?

No euthanasia, not even passive, no legal reprecussions from travelling abroad for it though, just a practice we wont partake in.

Doesnt really matter to me how good the afterlife is, there is no punishment for suicide but I cant bring myself to accept the risks of death penalty, no matter how I think about it, the only argument for it boils down to "iz expensive to keep prisoner ya" and thats not good for me.

I have some other things that I find hard to justify like 15 year voting age and 200 days a year free from school and 2 day work week and 45 year retirement age, still, the death penalty is by far the worst part.
