Stuff like that can help pull you back to the present moment kind of like a gift, and I don't think the snail would mind as much since you used him as a little stepping stone along your path.

Right? I had the same thought. Like were so in a hurry and lost in thought that we can't notice these little critters.

I hate it, accidentally killing some little thing, but fortunately there are no snails where I live so it's not a common occurrence. I try to remind myself their soul will return to experience something else again and again until they breach the veil of individuality and this is just what they signed up for, but it's still sad to me to kill a little thing by not paying enough attention.

Edit Reason: a word
)
Reminds me of the story from the Buddha's order where there was this arahant who had gone blind due to a past karma, and was absentmindedly killing all manner of insects as he paced a certain area. The other monks questioned the Buddha, who told them that there was no karma as there was no intention.
I have a moral dilemma of my own though. Is it wrong to feed a spider to a crab? This kills the spider, but it feeds the crab. I ask because I found a spider on me while reading at the beach under some trees, and when I removed it it hung off my hand by a string of web. As I was deciding where to put the spider down, a morbid curiosity overtook me and I lowered the spider to the mouth of a crab hole. Alas! The spider was seized by the crab and dragged underground! I have to assume to spider was promptly eviscerated and devoured.

This reminds me of the story of a buddha noticing a prisoner in a well and a one good deed he did a spider was judged sufficient for the buddha to lower a rope making spiders rope live to the prisoner who started climbing the rope up, he noticed all kinds of condemned people coming also up the rope and he drew a knife and cut the rope and the rope above him was also cut, he cried out and the buddha walked on.

I used to do something similar in the past, I'd work as a guard in a tower and since there were still waters nearby there were a ton of mosquitoes. I couldn't really use a phone so I'd scan the place for interesting things to look at. And I found a spider on a web just so perfectly blended into the shadow. Whenever I came nearby it it hid under something and came back after a few minutes. After sometime noticing it was always there I'd came to like it and became friends with it. It was so cool watching it make the webs, something that small could make such a beautiful creation. Anyway I'd kill mosquitoes and put them on its web and then make a slight pull where the misquote was put to make it seem like it's alive and then the spider would run and eat it. I think at some point that spider laid eggs because I noticed after a few months that new small spiders exactly like that one started making webs. And then one day it was gone. I felt quite sad. Anyway, got lost in thought here. hehe. dunno what I originally wanted to say. I don't think there's one thing to conclude about such things, because perhaps everyone has something different to learn.

There is a lot of beauty to appreciate though. Sorry Mister Spider, may you be set down on a leaf next time. You are welcome for the free meal, Mister Crab.

Quote:Yes, maybe there is no great lesson to learn from the actions of second-density beings. I disagree. We ARE second density beings living with third density awareness, but also with a veil. I believe we have much to learn from second density. We get so stuck in our third density superiority but all of the physical material that creates this planet is first/second density, which as I mentioned, includes, especially, our own vehicles. The spirit complex is a metaphysical concept that attaches to any second density creature that is prepared for that type of awareness. It's not our thumbs or "advanced brains" that make us third density - trees and rocks and even snails can become third density. What being a third density entity comes down to is being able to see a situation involving an "other-self", another entity, and being able to make a choice responding to that entity - you can recognize a need and serve that other entity by becoming that entity, as Ra suggests, or, you can serve yourself, which usually involves some distancing yourself from empathizing with that other self. Of course, there is a spectrum which also involves a complete lack of use at all of the catalyst provided. All that third density is, is an illusion set up exquisitely to create that possibility to make that choice.

I think we have't distincted what type of second density beings we're talking about. It goes anywhere from a tree to a bigfoot, which is a big difference in awareness.
2D beings dying or being hurt is always sad. specially when you try and fail to save them or have a bond with them.
I try to serve the animals that I can.. and avoid harming them. I see myself as a protector of 2D beings.. although I'm not a vegan. I despise the taste of meat but I eat a little for health and stuff Sohrab Sepehri was a persian poet. he was criticized for concerning himself with cockroaches and not caring about politics. (by Shamloo) He replied that if you don't have compassion for insects, you probably don't have any compassion anyway. I love him. haha

Cant wait for vat grown artificial meat so we can stop slaughtering animals in such massive numbers.

We have a tree in the back yard with its own identity, a name (Fred) and alluring tenancy to draw people in for a hug. If that tree dies I'm sure he's on his way up into third density awareness or maybe he's already there.
