Favorite Tarot deck? Why?

Hello friends, I'm wondering which Tarot deck is your favorite and why? There are so many decks out these days. Some are more artistic, others are more symbolic, and other decks break the rules and start their own system of divination.

In my opinion, Tarot cards have many uses. We can use them as a means of communicating with guidance. It just amazes me how the cards I draw speak to my question. The higher usage of Tarot cards is of course the study of the archetypal mind. Not until I read Ra's teachings on the Tarot had I made any progress in understanding the cards.

Anyway, my favorite decks have to be the Thoth Tarot by Aleister Crowley. The Thoth deck is very qabalistic, esoteric, occult. Perfect for me. Although my favorite deck to study the deep mind with is the Church of Light Egyptian Tarot. This is the deck recommended in the Law of One, and for good reason! These cards are rich. They're the closest to the original images Ra gave to the Egyptian initiates many thousands of years ago.
The Rider-Waite deck is a very popular deck. It's like the standard for Tarot. I like this deck because of the medieval esoteric imagery. It's one of my favorites as well but I don't use it much. The creators of this deck may have been of mixed polarity or even STS because, to keep to their oath of secrecy, they purposefully switched the order of the archetypes, Justice and Strength to confuse the "profane".

So I guess you could say for me I am looking for beautiful artistry but also deep symbolism. Symbolism is the language of the subconscious.

So tell me, which decks do you use and why? How do you approach using Tarot cards? For study, divination, self reflection, other?

I have a Rider-Waite deck that I've had since I was very young and it seems to give me the best results for readings. I also have a Brotherhood of the Light Egyptian tarot deck that I like cause it's similar to the one used by llresearch during the Ra contact. I dont use it much for divination but I find the archetypal symbolism helpful for self-reflection. I've been meaning to get the Thoth deck too, it looks very nice.

I also have a druid animal oracle deck which I find good for divination. The imagery appeals to me being of Celtic descent

I'm curious about the comment about the rider-waite deck being STS inspired, could you expand on that?

Then you may  find "Liber T - Tarot of Stars Eternal" useful. It's a redrawn Crowley Thoth Tarot with the major arcana the same but the redrawn minor arcana each with a figurative scene instead just showing elemental symbolism (staffs, cups, swords and pentacles).

Also interesting is the book by Linda Falorio - "The Shadow Tarot", about Ha-Ilan haHizon (the qliphothic 'tree of death' as the back-side of Otz-Chiim.

It's building on Crowley disciple Kenneth Grant's "The Nightside of Eden". All 'dark', left-hand path stuff of course.

I only know that the creators had the mindset that "our occult secrets must be kept secret from the profane. So we shall mix up th cards to keep to our oath." Elphias Levi also did this with one of his books. The chapters correspond to the Tarot arcana, but their order is purposefully wrong. Maybe they were STS or maybe just mixed polarity. But in my understanding, STO isn't purposefully giving out false information. (Even Don asked Ra if they gave false information and Ra said they did not do that intentionally.)
So actually, I may have misspoke. The deck is still very useful. It's not really service to self inspired with negative concepts, it's just the deceptive mixing up of information so that the "profane" aren't using accurate information.

I do agree that divination is a low usage of the cards. I will ask guidance questions to understand the spiritual principles of what I'm thinking about, not to know the future. For example, I did a reading for the spiritual principles behind my lack of career. It gives you something real to contemplate.

I'll look at "Liber T", but the other two might not be helpful to me. I've heard of Kenneth Grant... he's a black adept who's held in high regard by many black magicians.
