Those two situations are different levels of the same thing. Wow. Seriously? Ok. The wisest slave driver has slaves who do not believe they are slaves, and who in fact believe they are free. And everyone who is dependant on money or who makes the choices to enslave ones self or sell ones body, is enslaved to Moloch.
