I agree it takes a great deal of courage to persist in a spiritual life.
Shamans have their path chosen for them.
A shaman is constantly living between death, and their path.
They face death more than a normal person,
but they don't choose to become shamans.
They have not had the initiation.
I am not, nor will I ever be a real shaman, since I didn't grow up that way.
Though I do have another username on the web that has shaman in it.
I still don't call myself one, though I have gone on journeys.
I just don't face death every day, so this path was not chosen for me.
