Koala and fireman
You've probably seen this but it belongs I have a feeling this meant almost as much to the fireman who had been battling fires for the last week as it did to the Koala. Namaste

Ali, you just about killed me with this one. Made me cry. I always wished I had more money so i could set up an animal refuge in the country. I can't stand the sight of animal cruelty or neglect.

Sorry Peelstreetguy,
Look at it this way. The little guy had a free life. The scarred body is not abnormal for a stray cat. And the complete trust it put into a human picking it up even though it was in all essence a wounded wild cat shows that it was not abused by humans. At least it did not experience their actions as this. You could say he was alive right up till the moment he died and when that moment came he went purring. And in the hands of someone who cared for that moment at least. It's all any of us could wish for. It could be worse right? I doubt the critter ever felt sorry for himself. Sometimes life is like a lightning bolt, short and extremely bright. In eternity our waters are mingled. Nothing is really gained, nothing is really lost.

Hi Ali, Don't be sorry. The story and picture kept me thinking all day. I just see it a little different. The cats repeated attempt for love just gets him kicked in the face, so to speak. All the humans living around him and no one takes him in. No one gives him the love and home he seeks. In my area there are some stray cats and most people are mean to them. It's very sad to me. they come up purring and looking for a home and love but get shooed away at best. I do what I can.
It's sad to say, but I have a lot more respect and compassion for animals than I do for most humans.....I've been trying to work on that, but it's hard when I keep getting kicked in the face, so to speak.

Nature gives and nature takes.
C'est la vie. Amazing how the same story can inspire different interpretations and responses isn't it? (08-12-2009, 09:05 AM)ayadew Wrote: That's so inspiring Man Ayadew ya did it again. You, ali and ,everyone on this forum are always poking and prodding me in the right direction whether you realize it or not. Well right before I read your post(its 3 words but still a post amirite); Below your name and beside your pic it says "you". I have seen it before, but for some reason it was the first thing I spotted this time and it just sent me into a long session of extreme lol'ing. Heck im still giggling a little bit. Its true what they say(it was said to me by someone on this forum actually) "the first thing a person does upon reallizing a great truth is laugh", and I do laugh a lot, and never (at least seemingly) at anyone's expense. And that is just the way Q’uo likes it remembering their answer to the question on the use of humor. Anyway this was all completely off subject(the subject is pics rite??), but I would like to say that was a great pic ali and it did get a tear out of me too. Love and peace my friends

airwaves: You make me laugh also, with your wonderful and personal posts, filled of feeling and "you"-ness.
You are dear to me, and please find comfort in that you inspire me also. Do whatever is in your heart to do, and know that it is never wrong unless you deem it so yourself.

Good job airwaves Grats on the wonderfull experience, and beauty deserves a tear or two. There is a sufi poem that states that a single tear is sufficient payment for God to completely give himself to us. That little kitty has much for us to aspire to
I'm glad it made such an impact, it came in through the regular news channels I thought of you guys and forwarded it here without giving it much thought. Only your responses showed me the greater depth in the story. Peelstreetguy said the image had him thinking all day and that he kind of identified with ugly. That thought in turn kept me busy. It's certainly a valid perspective, we have a little ugly in all of us. Quote: the first thing a person does upon reallizing a great truth is laughI lol therefore I am
