"Hunger has great positive value to many people. Indeed, it is fundamental to the working of the world’s economy. Hungry people are the most productive people, especially where there is a need for manual labour. ... For many of us, hunger is not a problem, but an asset."

What if hunger isn't limited to physical hunger? What if it's mental and spiritual too? ...

Hop to Ra's comments on more leisure time. (https://www.lawofone.info/s/11#28)

Quote:The product of such a freeing would create two experiences.

Firstly, the experience of no need to find the necessary emolument for payment, in your money, for energy.

Secondly, the leisure afforded, thereby exemplifying the possibility and enhancing the probability of the freedom to then search the self for the beginning of seeking the Law of One.

Few there are working physically from daybreak to darkness, as you name them, upon your plane who can contemplate the Law of One in a conscious fashion.

Nowadays, many of us go to work, pay the bills, acquire, maintain ... When I work full time (40 hrs/wk in US), I give the better part of my day to work. And, then the weekend ... mad rush to get all personal stuff done. Rinse and repeat each week.

What would I do with more free time? I bet many of us are asking similar questions. Lockdowns showed me how the world can be when we take some time off from the busy, daily routine.

I imagine what would happen if our "hunger" was put on hold for 1 day globally. And, everyone everywhere does not go to work for 1 day. In lieu of work, we do what our hearts desire.

Imagine with me, if you like.

(It seems that the post is organically drifting from its topic.)

Yes - this could be a good metaphysical discussion in a new thread.

I can tell you that you can invest your time with more studies, thinking, perception and inner work.

And yes - hopefully a Great Reset will have the opportunity to wake up for more people.
But everything is depending on the free will - 2 days ago i have spoken to someone who realized that most things are not correct, but he didn't want to think about and accept all things in detail, specially the metaphysical aspects.
He didn't want to think on the fictional things in detail either - he just want's to state what is not correct, without thinking how it should be correct.

This remembers me to the thread New Age Spiritual Movement Frustrations, because many people don't want to learn and see the complexity and variety of the mental prison they are trapped.

Anybody have thoughts on creating leisure time for spiritual matters?

When I originally read the excerpt above from Ra, I wondered how I/we might free up some of our time for spiritual pursuits. I can easily get distracted from spirituality by attending to all of the physical matters.

I want to simplify or disengage to free up time to do things that feed my soul. There are lots of tendrils that connect me and societal systems like the market economy, government, etc.

It's not so easy to sever these tendrils. It will likely be a process of many choices to slowly change daily 'demands' on my time.

When awakened to a higher state of consciousness from purely 3D level of thinking, one has the opportunity to approach any and every situation with the Creator in mind. Spiritual and physical cease to be differentiated or separated in a meaningful way. Until we may appreciate this form of living, we must ask ourselves why are we not experiencing such a balanced state, and instead prefer (unconsciously) to experience, for example, various physical activities which seemingly are undecirious?

    This is my understanding.

Start small with a big commitment.

The idea is to make it easy at first and create a habit. It works the same with anything, such as exercise. So decide maybe that you will devote 5 minutes per day (keep the time the same and convenient) to meditate, and make yourself do it. Or decide to read something spiritual for a half hour before bed on weekdays, leaving the weekend open. These are arbitrary suggestions. The trick really is to start small so the commitment and follow-through are not too overwhelming or interrupting to your current way of life.

Judging from the examples around the world, it looks like you end up starting doing something to help the society & the civilization when you have free time. Or take up any committed activity. Homo sapiens sapiens seems to be a species that cannot stay idle for long.

Well, I'm apparently not capable at the moment of doing anything that would increase my job prospects.

I would give enough attention to my emotions to not create anxiety randomly (when I push them down to go to work).

I would keep up with my schedule of meditating. It's one of the crappier things that I can't do this everyday. When anxiety sets in then I don't sleep that well I catch up on sleep on certain days then I don't have time to meditate.

I would play music every day.
