    Hi all

Has anyone got examples of 'electrifying images' for visualisation?

Quo - we suggest that the visualization object be an object that is, indeed, electrifying and exciting, evocative of all that is best and highest in the life experience thus far.

Does this mean high art or architecture or simply perhaps a flower, or does this mean an image held of the self that is in some way electrifying? Has anyone any experience or advice on this? If I'm embarking on months of visualisation I'd like to use the most effective image.

Rueckert says such visualisations can 'rebuild and heal the self' That would be my aim.

    Thanks

    Hey Bora137!

This is going to be a slightly oblique response to your request for examples of electrifying images. It's a question I had, too, when I first began studying this material, and I spent some time searching for these kinds of examples, before realizing that I was operating under a slight misapprehension, which was that there is a kind of objectivity in the metaphysical realms that would make it possible to quantify efficacy, but intention is actually the driving force in time/space. There are images that are powerful, to be sure, but they are powerful because they have been built-up over time by different cultures and seekers. I ended up feeling that these forms, although beautiful and helpful in their own right, don't always appeal to a Wanderer's sensibilities, since you would also be connecting to the energies and intentions of the builders. I opted for silent meditation instead and did not feel that I had lost anything. That was my experience.

I also had a lot of underlying anxiety when I was seeking information about self-healing. I assumed it would be complicated or difficult.
What I've since learned is that the most difficult part about self-healing is to keep up a daily meditative practice that resonates with you and a mostly unfaltering intention to heal. The importance of intention can't be understated. If the intention is there, the right sources and influences will come to you. In fact, the real concern, viewed from a metaphysical perspective, is not that you won't get what you'll ask for, but that you will. It can be possible to draw too much power from healing sources that can't be fully integrated, if the will is forceful and the person is not paying full attention to their experience.

In short, if you find an image that inspires you and work with it regularly, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

One of the best awe-inspiring images I have seen, (ever), is the "China Museum of Art" in Shanghai. A few weeks ago I stumbled across somebody driving around Shanghai on YouTube, and they stopped outside the museum. I had to have a photograph of the building because it is so beautiful. In reality, the building is based on a a four-legged "Tao Gate", (another of my favourite structures in China and Japan.

What a person finds electrifying, inspiring, and all that is best in the life experience thus far, will vary person to person.

Traditional meditation methods have their own visualizations, depending on the system this will be a meaningful image, or a meaningless image.

My advice if you want to pursue that method is to first reflect on your own life and the symbolism which evokes those feelings in yourself. Then draw your own symbol, it can be anything which evokes those feelings, a bird, a tree, a waterfall, or a building, or an abstract symbol such as the bagua or taiji. Then use that symbol that you personally have that reaction to, or represents what you have that reaction to.

The symbol should be relatively easy to visualize for beginners. Complex symbols are difficult to start with. You can always start with a simplified symbol and add complexity as you progress.

Adding to your request. What I find 'electrifying images' for visualisation' is starting the meditation outdoors in the evening when it is dark and the skies are clear. Even when the skies are not clear, there is beauty is all around you, the trees, etc. See the love in all, close your eyes and see the image of the beauty through your heart - love and light.

Another idea is to find a quote from Ra or others that touches your heart. Read it and see it within, close your eyes and meditate on the theme or guidance. See the words within and the colours/pictures that come to mind, just observe.

Try and find something that stands out in your subconscious and go from there. It's easier to visualize something that holds a certain feeling in your subconscious than just anything

This is an interesting question, and one I sometimes encounter. I agree that it likely varies from being to being and even meditation to meditation, in a personalized, significant way.

Sometimes after I settle, an image will come to me. For instance, I'm drawn to fractals these days, but that may change at any point.

Other times, I consciously choose a "starting" image that is significant to me at that moment. I am often pleasantly surprised how visualization seems to take on a life of its own, as I notice consciously trying to steer it. Then, I just laugh, and let go; I go with the flow and let it be what it wants to be. And, of course, there are times, when I'm too distracted, my mind is too busy, and it just doesn't come together.

I don't often, if ever, have repeat images and scenes ... they vary a great deal depending upon that moment. I try to start with an intention or concept; my meditation may follow my lead, or do its own thing.

While here I am talking specifically about my visualization meditation, I should add that meditation, to me, has a broad nature. For example, when I walk or do dishes or whatever and do so slowly, consciously and open myself up to each and all in a sense of wonder and preciousness (for lack of a better term), it can be meditative to me. I presume we all have unique approaches to our meditation.

What is electrifying, nourishing, meaningful ... what is calling to you?

Thanks Boundlessheart your advice feels right to me. I have been doing Om for quite a while now just with the intention of allowing more direction to flow from higher self to me. This has worked well I feel and it has been a time of progress. The intention point you make I take it on board. I do in fact have an image that has come to me in different ways over the years, I drawn a bit and it is often been a subject but has not been developed as much as I feel I should. Anyway I will use it as my image in meditation and see what happens ☺️

Thanks Dtris this is good advice I feel. I have an image that keeps coming to me an image from nature so I will use that
