Does anyone have an Archetype that speaks to them more than any other? I loved studying The Hierophant and The Wheel of Fortune. Anyone else?

The Star/Hope/Faith archetype is my jam. Firstly, is it just really pretty to look at. Secondly, I like the ever-pouring cups that spill into the pools, as they remind me of the concept of intelligent infinity funneling into our energy systems to meet the upward spiraling prana, enlivening and inspiring us wherever we may be situated. I find this concept very magical - how the full, incomprehensible majesty of an ever-expanding infinite cosmic-mind is able to be funneled into an individuated portion of consciousness, to be focused to such a degree that in the darkness, work may be done with our tiny candle (71.7). So I see that being reflected in the magical pitchers that do not stop pouring. I also like the imagery of beautiful growth for STO polarization, as I do see faith as that power which can co-create in harmony with the Logos.

It’s also the archetype that Ra states to be the most closely linked with the "dissociation" that the adept experiences out of necessity, as was covered in the OP.

Ra: I am Ra. The excursion of which you speak and the process of disassociation is most usually linked with that archetype you call Hope which we would prefer to call Faith. This archetype is the Catalyst of the Spirit and, because of the illuminations of the Potentiator of the Spirit, will begin to cause these changes in the adept’s viewpoint.

I’m not totally sure why the above may be the case, but I would guess that it is through faith that we come to see/sense/live-as-though all is One. Perhaps when we reach the awareness of our true natures through Catalyst of the Spirit, we come to better understand the true natures of others, thus the “illusory husks” fall away from the viewpoint. Or perhaps it is because when we live faithful lives, guided by our north star, we out of necessity live according to universal truth - that all is Creator.

An adept is one who is conscious of the archetypes and uses them for their personal and spiritual evolution.

I do wonder to what extent an adept could consciously penetrate the archetypes without having any prior knowledge of them.

They don't penetrate the archetypes. They live through them and become them. Thus the Major Arcana are not abstract art pictures they try to decipher, but real life quests, experiences, traumas, and other things they acquire through fate (the pre incarnation life planning).

By obtaining this experience, it gives them an easier time of relating to these archetypes, because there is no need for intellectual knowledge. The Campbell look at a Hero with a THousand Faces, is very useful in relating archetype experience/pictures to the human experience.

Every single Major Arcana, major secret, has been in my life, with a few exceptions for the more vague card pictures. The picture I focus on changes according to my current life experiences.

While it does not go in order as in the archetype handbook, there is indeed a plot/story that is being linked together, starting from The Choice 0.

I've often wondered about this final statement that you have made. I believe the Archetypes are within each of us, the understanding is already there but one must look upon the images in a meditative state to access the information. Though at first the work may be slightly distorted, as one studies and meditates upon the images the information becomes clearer and clearer. I have also wondered if one were to study in previous lifetimes, if that accumulated wisdom is also a part of the soul stream?
I love The Hierophant because this is the inner voice of wisdom that guides and teaches. This Archetype connects the higher to lower (Vav=hook) allowing teachings to flow from the higher planes to the Material. Also what is learned and ascertained here is ascertained there. In the BOTA deck The Hierophant has three levels to his crown and the lowest level symbolizes the Material plane, just as on The Wheel of Fortune; Key 10; the outer ring containing the letters suggests the manifestation of the WORD or Logos and therefore stand for the Material world or the world of the spoken word. And the higher levels of the Hierophant's crown symbolize the Formative, Creative and the Archetypal (just as in Key 10 and the inner most ring going outward). These worlds are connected to the very being of each individual soul as it is part of Creation and this to me speaks why when one is able to center oneself in meditation and practice that he can learn the Archetypes without ever having previous knowledge OR reconnect to what he has learned from previous lifetimes. I hope I made sense.

When you consider that umpteen spiritual masters arose in China, India, etc., it's reasonable to conclude that what these people are penetrating is not the archetypes, but their own being, their own consciousness--and they're doing a pretty good job of it without benefit of the particular roadmap offered by Ra, it seems to me.

I and two others have a study group, focused for the past year mainly on the Archetypes. I find all the Archetypes interesting to say the least, but, like Louisabell, the one I am most drawn to is the Catalyst of the Spirit (the Star).

The Catalyst of the Spirit represents many things to me. For one, it represents letting go of that which is not needed (detachment) by the pouring out into the dark pool; and keeping that which is needed, the processing of which results in the enormous blooming growth in fertile ground, and the transformation indicated by the butterfly having emerged from the chrysalis state now in full expression of self. This detachment is a dissociation from the constraints of this reality, the human judgments, the idea of right and wrong, and the human drama (seeing others as self and having no attachment to the human "husks"). It has come to the attention of the self through the illuminations of the Potentiator of the Spirit (the lightning-struck tower).

I like that the figure is naked, in other words, not hiding anything, truthful and transparent—and in being so has a better chance of "grasping the light of day" and not "groping in the moonlight," indicating that self-honesty is a more direct path to the spirit rather than self-delusion and the masks that we wear and play with in this density. Those masks and roles we play, represented in the Significator of the Mind, are fine; they are necessary in working out that which we have come here to do and be, to play out pre-incarnative biases represented in the cartouches at the bottom, and to act and interact in this world and with catalyst and choices. But in order to get closer to the intelligent infinity, and the adept's ability to access intelligent energy, all catalyst and all 3rd-density paradigms must be processed with no attachments, as I see happening in the Catalyst of the Spirit.

I think this is where the idea of hope or faith comes in; the actions of the Potentiator of the Spirit—the lightning-struck tower—in illuminating at times through destruction of paradigms and belief systems constructed by the self and clung to, one becomes more and more aware of the nature of these constructions, thereby realizing the illusory nature or transience, and comprehending that reality is so much more than what we see here, that there is a part of ourselves (the spirit) which lies beyond physicality and mentation, and that the spirit is equipped to deal with catalyst efficiently in order to prepare one's self more and more for contact with intelligent infinity.

I was looking at your key/card and I found it interesting the a black and white diamond is inside the 8 pointed star (Life-power). With the top portion of the diamond pointing upward and the lower portion pointing downward. I also found it interesting that the figure pours from the vessel a dark liquid onto a white (land) surface and the white liquid being poured onto the dark surface (water; as I can see the tiny waves). This is a very interesting key to say the very least; I mean looking at the image of the style you study.
There seems to be a theme pointing toward the blending of masculine and feminine forces (much the way nature has blended them) here both in the above (above the figure) and in the below (below the figure's feet). And because there is motion of the water, perhaps this could be vibration? She is also balancing herself on the water/vibration. I would assume that the butterfly stands for metamorphosis or transformation or growth (not in the physical sense of course?

Wonderful. My Mother was an 11/2 and had gifts. She never used her potential until the last few years of her life. There is a good book called Numerology and the Divine Triangle. It covers the Pythagorean Theorm. The book contains a little bit of Tarot and their correspondence to the numbers and some Astrology as well. It isn't an expensive book but it is really neat to read. I will find a link and post it.
