May I just start off with saying, I love bed bugs (sarcasm), and friends who give them.

I'm tired of itching.  Now there's mosquitoes in the room who love me.

I am full of bug bites.  Spiders, Bed Bugs, Mosquitoes, Ants.  They love me right now.  Maybe I should stop loving them back D:
    Especially the blood sucking ones!!

Does anyone else know my pain?

I weeded my asparagus patch a week ago, and discovered, to my chagrin, that it was full of chiggers.  So I'm covered with chigger bites.  Yes, I feel your pain.

My husband is dealing with catalyst today because he killed a wasp that had claimed the hummingbird feeder as its and has been harassing the hummingbirds. We've been trying to discourage it with water but finally he just smashed it. Sad RIP little buggy

As far as bug bites go, I try to send my love to the buggies, but I also ask them not to hurt me. Like, you can use the resources of my body that I'm not (ie sweat to drink, a miniscule amount of blood) but just try to be gentle and do it without my knowing. That's the intention I send out. Tongue

Also, self-healing and understanding that my body processes toxins extremely quickly, so that if I am irritated by a bite, that the irritation will go away quickly. If they're really bad, I'll just flat out ask them to stop. Also, there are lots of essential oils you can use to discourage the gathering of pest-y insects (citronella, peppermint, etc)

Many essential oils discourage insects. I've been stung by honeybees several times accidentally. I don't panic because I am very used to being around them, but it sometimes happens.  Bee stings are dealt with really well with baking soda and a little water. Make a paste with it and cover the bite. The pain will subside almost immediately. This may work on other bites as well. Also, for itchy bites, witch hazel is a great temporary relief. Just soak a cotton pad and wipe the area. When the itching comes back, wipe again.

I have communicated with the insects whenever needed, and I have had that come back. I wrote once in this forum about a honeybee swarm, which had been living in a pillar on the back patio (I used to love to watch them). They "called me" one day when I was working in my studio and I went outside to see what the noise was. They were above my front door entrance. I just stood there underneath them while the huge swarm hovered maybe 6 feet above my head, and I was filled with enormous love for them, and I felt something being directed to me which felt like "thank you, and goodbye." My relationship with insects has so morphed throughout my life that I find cockroaches and scorpions beautiful and nothing really scares me. Oddly, I have never been mosquito bate. I can be in a group where everyone is getting bitten and I rarely get any bites. I think this is in part because I never spray insecticides. There are probably physiological reasons as well such as what I "smell" like to them.

Plus they know you not to be a threat from your overall demeanor.

I Might invest in something for my feet... i have over 7 bites across just my right foot from everything v-v

The itch. Suuuuucks. I use rubbing alcohol, the witch hazel i have is the generic artificial stuff, doesn't do anything for the itching.

Plantain (latin plantago) grows everywhere, especially in compacted soils. Go find some in a grassy area, chew some up, and rub it on your bites. I have bites all over me as well and just did this this morning. Plantain also relieves stings and heals cuts, among other things. If you put it on right away after a bite it works even better.

May I recommend you try taking a bath with some tea tree oil and lemon oil in it?

    It helps. Alot.

    Smile

It quite is! I like to bathe with these, as well as some crystals in water. (Ra mentions water is also a crystal so I figured one day why not use the two together)
If you do include crystals be careful that the crystals are weak after a warm bath and are more viable to crack or break if not handled with care.

    You are welcome Smile

Yeah, I accidentally injured one of my quartz last time bathing with the crystals and I felt very displeased with my mishandling.

After reading some posts Diana user had a great point, I must say.

Sorry if I am doing this forum thing wrong this is my first time using a forum. Ha ha!

    Not doing anything wrong! BigSmile
Just read the guidelines, don't be too hurt when another doesn't abide by them, enjoy the odd types here and there and continue being as amazing as you have been!

That is a very desired warning for my quartz, thank you thank you thank you!!

I just want to add, I use a lot of essential oils too, just be careful when you take a bath with new oils - sometimes they can affect the skin. I can't recall ever using lemon but I know I've used orange and it was a little too acidic/burny in my bath (with the warm waters, + pores opening...) Really though, having a fleet of essential oils is a great idea - just be aware of potential sensitivities (esp in the bath, on thin skinned areas)

Also, adding sea/epsom salt helps emulsify the oil so it doesn't just sit on top of the water.

First I need to afford them my friends Heart
Figure I'll buy foodstuffs first, then go to oils for skin use and bathing. Figure I'll get actual fruits and infuse them in water if I want to ingest a $12 bottle of lemon essential oil (assuming that one is edible, I don't know).

    -sighs at wallet-
Money, why -falls to hands and knees dramatically-

I think you can get a bottle of lemon essential oil for closer to $3-$4 at most health food stores. Don't spring for the doTerra or Young Living, they are priced for MLM distribution. Organic is nice, but it's almost impossible to find all essential oils organically - but a collection is definitely something worth investing in/growing, as they usually last a nice long while. Except lavender and tea tree, I use them right up!

I imagine I'll sync myself into their use when and if the time comes.
