As the thread title says. I have noticed lately a few times that there is a desire for a more focused and perhaps more serious study and effort towards seeking. I appreciate this and would like to work with it and expand on it. So to start I ask, what are you seeking?

My next question would be, what sort of discipline do you have?

I have to say, ever since I read this quote long ago, my curiosity was peaked:

My discipline is relatively simple.  I simply sit in meditation, and practice what they call "ata" (attend to the actual).  It is a process by which you bring your attention to that which you are presently actually experiencing, raw and full.  And just "watch it" in stillness and silence.  It is the same thing Tolle preaches (living in the now).  

This process gradually dissolves distortions of thought which prevent you from seeing what is really there.

That is very similar to my own general technique as well, interesting.

The question I am asking is about what one's habits are regarding seeking. Some are casual, others have much conviction.

I seek after being a positive adept. I would like to know what I need to do to do that. I don't mind information that's already in the Law of One material, as well as a re-analysis of this and your own ideas on what would be helpful on this path. I also have a question in line with what I seek after. Is it important that I integrate on a really deep level an understanding of polarities and the Law of One, proper? My guess is yes.

My discipline is shikantaza style meditation. I'm doing this every night before I go to sleep. I'm trying to increase the time I do this. This is the type of meditation I used to do when I meditated previously about a year ago.

my own seeking is based on resolving *all* imbalances that come to my awareness.

This has been a most challenging journey, as aside from pre-incarnative imbalances on a soul level, I've accumulated my own share of imbalances by being in the earth environment.  That is not to blame this planet or society; but rather, just like the coal smog pollution of Victorian England, or present day Chinese modern cities, there is an inevitable accumulation within the self of planetary imbalances, just by virtue of being here, in incarnate form.  We literally breathe it in, and it shapes our consciousness, even to the level of the distorted level of language that we utilise.

Once you become aware of those socially imbibed imbalances, they can be addressed.  One can then address deeper levels of subtle rejection of this planet, which in terms of Wanderers, can run quite deep.

So using catalyst to balance is how I approach my life.

Life will always present the catalyst most pressing to you; it just needs to be decoded by being able to work through the symbology.

One also becomes highly sensitive to when one's consciousness is aligned ... and when it is being buffeted by catalyst and imbalances.  It is as wide as the gulf between infinity and finity.  Full sunlight and darkest night.  Clarity, and confusion.

Those aligned states are rare indeed, and very short in span before the next round of imbalances comes to conscious awareness.

But that's my own personal journey, and one that I'm committed to.

Knowing one's path is the greatest balm of all.  The techniques are just tools; and really secondary.  The seeking that one does will eventually lead you to the most appropriate tools for one's vibratory state.

I can say, quite unabashedly, that the teachers you find will start becoming non-physical as one transcends blue into indigo.  There are no human teachers who can tailor the understandings specifically relevant to someone seeking at the higher levels.

Dreams, and the channel of intution will become flooded by information from these non-corporeal teachers when one is ready to take the next step forward in balancing.

I can't think of anything I seek more than myself.

My discipline involves a committed dedication to self-honesty, along with a constant cultivation of the willpower needed to use the things I discover productively. It is a graceful balance between accepting all that I find within myself and continually refining myself into more and more of what I know myself to truly be.

While there are rituals I have performed to aid in the disciplines mentioned above, most of it comes from a sort of meditative contemplation I am almost constantly engaged in. I rarely see or do anything without holding it against the deeper mechanism of my being.

That's older than Socrates mate, that was written on the wall of the temple of Apollo at Delphi and is attributed to the legendary Seven Sages, usually Thales of Miletus or Chilon of Sparta.

It is the most well known of the 3 maxims of the seven sages that were written in the temple, the others are μηδέν άγαν ("Nothing in excess") and Ἑγγύα πάρα δ'ἄτη (usually translated as "Make a pledge and mischief is nigh"). There may have been more of them but these guys were ancient even by Socrates' time so anything else is lost.

The reason I have made this thread is because I wanted to highlight the diversity of the intentions behind why individuals might be here on the forum, and what it is they are seeking for themselves. In light of recent discussions on the 'purpose' of the forum I thought it would be good to draw out the fact that there are many different reasons that people might be participating in this forum and that none of them are 'wrong'.

After my NLE I did allot of seeking... Wanting to get back to that clear expanded state of super consciousness... Now I am no longer a seeker of life, I am however open to be found by life and work with the natural momentum of the present moment.

To love and accept myself fully. To learn to express myself without fear of judgment. To love and accept others and to not dwell in useless thoughts of judgment, insecurity, self-defeat, hatred/bitterness, etc; either towards myself or others. My discipline is to be aware of these thoughts as much as I can, accept them as much as I can and release them as much as I can and overall just to find happiness. I know at some point I need to implement daily meditation. I am just not there yet.

What disciplines do you have tanner and why are you here?

As for my discipline, I would say it is fairly strong. It certainly doesn't match that of some people but I have an exceptional amount of patience. By discipline I guess I would really be referring to what Ra might call the 'strengthening of the will'. It is the 'will-to-do'.

I guess that would be my current given role, it is a temporary thing like any other thing.

I am not fully aware of the reasons beyond the veil for my current state of mind, it could easily be any other way.

Maybe it is a transition phase.

Maybe I am trying to avoid the inevitable end, or delay it as much as I can.

Maybe it is my current exploration of my own desires.
