This is the extraordinary place where we all live - the Universe.

The picture is the first full-sky image from Europe's Planck telescope which was sent into space last year to survey the "oldest light" in the cosmos.

It took the 600m-euro observatory just over six months to assemble the map.

It shows what is visible beyond the Earth to instruments that are sensitive to light at very long wavelengths - much longer than what we can sense with our eyes. ...

I do always feel, when scientific discoveries are made, that they are often pale in comparison to that which is contained within the Ra Material. Unless they directly support the LOO, as the recent discovery that the pyramid stones are not at all natural, and 'more like cement' :¬)

The milky way sure is beautiful. Although as beautiful as the milky way is, it holds no scientific value as to the mission of Planck. For Planck to see the cosmic microwave background radiation, it needs to filter out all the light from the milky way and see what is "behind" the milky way (from our perspective). This will allow us to observe the earliest radiated light in the universe, and possibly see the evidence of the universe's faster than light expansion at the beginning of the universe.
