When I was ungrounded, I talked to God and some other entity tricked me and talked back in the place of God. I was defiant toward my mother and my dog when I wasn't grounded. I also one day walked outside naked and was shortly thereafter taken to a mental hospital. When I'm ungrounded it can feel like I'm being chased by a black hole, and can be as lovely as when I'm a child and everything is new and lovely.

When I was ungrounded I'd watch YouTube videos thinking that I had created every video I was seeing since I am co-creator. Then I realized that those people were within me as a part of me, creating infinitely. I saw everyone as a projection of myself, with various perspectives.

When I'm grounded, I'm here and now. Not having fanciful thinking. Not worried about making harvest. Not worried about all the little bad things that I done and that I'll have to experience them when I have my life review after I've passed on. That used to worry me, because I've done some bad stuff in my life.

I think grounding has to do with the lower triad of chakras. I don't tend to feel those chakras, so it's hard to say if I'm balanced there.

I would say it is in being in good connection or circulation with my "Earth self", it is about the context of oneself. It does certainly relate to the red ray in that it is about being firmly rooted in the environment you find yourself in and feeling stable and comfortable in that space. I view it very much as the same way a ground is required for electrical currents in that if we are not "in circulation" with the Earth body/Cosmic body we get electrical charges in the body which become trapped circulating in the body and this causes all sorts of blockage by the break in the continuous flow from the top of the being to the base and vice versa.

Basically, when we are grounded, there is a full path of energetic travel through the individual, and when we are ungrounded there is a broken path. This can often cause overactivity in chakras, which I have found to be the main effect of being ungrounded. The overactivity will usually concentrate in chakras where there are blockages, acting as a sort of gravity for the electrical charge. The charge becomes caught "in orbit" of the blockage I suppose you could say.

This largely relates to the processing of catalytic charges as charges are equalized and balanced by being grounded out to make sure the "energetic pressure" between the individual and the environment are equal. If they are not, usually as a result of holding on to the charges, causes a change in the pressure of energy between inside and outside the individual because of the imbalance of energy concentrated in the self and not being circulated with the environment to equalize. This results in further amplification of blocking distortions due to excess energy being made to be circulated solely within the body.

I feel this is very much part of what I mean by making a full circulation with the environment in that every charge through the self is fully engaged through all levels, not just in the mind or emotions.

I like this.

Simple physical movement alone--a change of perspective--is sometimes enough to instigate relaxation from the grip of a particular tendency (such as mind analyzing or emotional drama), and allow flow to get past blockages and holding onto things etc., through the entire being. I find that getting out of the house, and looking at the earth--animals, insects, sky, anything--is enough to get me out of mind stuff and bring me into the present, which then allows the flow to happen of itself.

Yes, I find nature to be very grounding! Although I think there are many ways of grounding and I was taught to be able to ground to anything, such as objects, to the air, to space, to the earth, to trees, etc. My girlfriend does her natural grounding by watching certain TV shows which seems to help her release emotional charges and relax herself and get more in connection with her human self. I love to sit by running water or spend time with trees, although I also practice grounding in many ways. Key appears to be some sort of "full circle" with yourself and your environment. If you do not want to be in the environment you are in you will disconnect and become ungrounded.

Aha I mostly just use a freeform solitary study and kind of absorb and filter information from many different sources. I wouldn't say I have training in any particular style, but have sought to master my body on its own grounds as opposed to the training of particular forms, I believe in fluidity.

I mostly just do these things alone as it is more of a personal form of therapy and energy release. For qi gong I tend to do a lot of basic standing meditation with breathing exercises, mostly a lot of circulations and motions followed through.

To me, grounded means "stable". It means you are on firm footing, metaphorically speaking.

When the base is stable, you may build upon it. When the next level is stable, you may build upon that. When the next level is stable, you may build more structure upon that, and so on.

So you see, there are many places to "ground" or "stabilize" oneself. It is the seeking of balance.

If the base is not balanced, all that proceeds from that will also be unbalanced, so it is quite worth it to clear or balance ourselves seriatim from red upwards. It is also important to remember that the chakras may be instantaneously cleared (though this is more the exception than the rule).

I ground myself by focusing on, and appreciating, those aspects of my experience that are evidence that all is well. I'm very introverted, so I like to find my stability away from people, in a quiet place (the forest if possible). This gives me the strength to deal with day to day catalyst, the curveballs of contrast that life throws at us.

I believe that being "grounded" means that you are simply present in the moment. Then, if one or many energy centers, are blocked or unblocked, doesn't matter, as long as you are aware and present.

The signs of being "ungrounded" are perhaps distraction? Not being present and aware in the present moment?

That would probably work. I do like meditation the best because you're not really doing anything. And then exercising by walking the treadmill about 1.5 miles in a day. I could probably find a Youtube video on them, but my YouTube buffers terribly and the video hangs.

I've stopped using that as a reference term or thought. I.e thinking am I grounded right now? perhaps I need to ground myself some more ?

For me it's simply just being in the moment and accepting it without imagining any fantastical counterpart. I think I'am more grounded now then I was when I thought of it as grounded hehe.

I highly recommend that book to anyone--not just martial artists. I gave it to my nephew when he graduated from college and was about to embark on a career and his own life. It's old, but absolutely fantastic in philosophy. It may be out of print, I'm not sure, but you can get it at sites such as Alibris.com, a used book website if it is.

That's awesome that you do these practices. There are some martial arts teachers who are the real thing and have amazing info on chi and breath. A lot of the American Tai Chi instruction for instance, is lacking in understanding of body alignment and the energy body. Here is a short vid by Wing Woo, who touches on the immense amount of info concerning proper body alignment needed to allow the chi to flow:

I would not train with an instructor who allows contact below black belt level, or possibly brown. Technique and control should be mastered first.

So true. It is rare that I really feel it 100%, and I started learning it 13 years ago. I'm not very good though. I did better at Gung Fu. Tai Chi takes enormous patience, which is something I am developing.

When the mind is utilizing vibratory patterns which are from "unseated" experience or ideas which substitute for experience. i.e. due to confusion and distortion - something was taken as true based on a misunderstanding and the mind does not know the difference, it just wants to maintain a pattern.

When thoughts are of a "grounding" nature, usually the focus is back down to the familiar red-ray where support and strength is provided. However, each "seating" including and above red-ray is the provision of grounding support for thoughts. Thus in orange ray, the ungrounded individual may exhibit eccentric behavior. In yellow ray, distortions involving egocentricity and power manipulation, etc. And today we can easily see the beginnings of green-ray distortions from post-modernism and the various "seeking" memes.

What makes me happy are the numerous furry music videos with anthro artwork, set to pretty cool music. There are more out there than I can imagine. Some I don't care for the music, but many I do. And these ground me in the moment, probably better than anything.

I even asked Ra and Q'uo to show me furry videos that would relate to them, and I got some lovely ones about how they miss me.

But the best furry video song I had found was called Furries are Awesome, and is set to the song "The Best is Yet to Come".

Each moment is circumstantial here. And each circumstance will call upon seated experiencence. Some seating takes more effort due to lack of dispositional bias, will and desire. This work of integration is often ignored due to suggestion that higher is more effecacious or congruent with sensibilities than lower.

I am implying that the post-modernist memes largely express themselves as a (unconscious) balancing reaction which is indeed ungrounded (due to the reactions not being centered from experience, but scripted by subcultural convention).

It's "green-ray" in that it touches upon that vibration with the notions and investigations which are of an "ego"-transcendent nature - i.e. elevationism, egalitarianism, holistic apprehensions, etc.
