I like this thread a lot, I need to start collecting again. I've moved/been stolen from/been poor so many times that I really detached from any desire for most material things, but this thread makes me reconsider!

Does anyone know of a stone/crystal that is good for grounding?

Black kyanite grounds from root on down. Grounding meditations become very potent and can make you aware of your connection to the 'earth star chakra'. Smokey quartz is very popular as well. Black Tourmaline is a recent favorite of mine.

If you can't go to store in person to check them out, I'd just buy a bunch of them. You can never have enough.

So, I bought a positive vibration combo. I notice myself engaging in 'negative thought patterns' when I don't have the moldavite pendant in my vicinity. Very powerful for me. I'm not 100% sure as to the super 7's exact effects, but I really love it.

I bought this primarily for the moldavite, but the peridot and citrine are some very nice crystals to get as part of the package deal. Also, silver supposedly 'guides' the energies of what is set in it. This is the combo that keeps me from stewing in my own filth (so to speak).

I have a piece of moldavite but I think it is fake. I don't feel anything from it.:-/

I do have some 1mm moldavite beads that seriously shifted my chakra balance upwards. Did not really enjoy the feeling.

This is the stone I most commonly meditate with.

What makes you choose that stone? I don't actually sit with bare stones as they don't seem to do as much for me as a 'blend'.

I will be creating an experimental device with my skeleton quartz soon. This device is gonna blow my mind if it works 'as advertised'. They showed it to me in a dream and I was confused as to how it was working. The other week the concept finally integrated completely, and they gave the go ahead to create it. If it works, it will confuse everyone that comes across it.

I think that stone chose me instead of me choosing it. I feel naturally compelled to meditate with it. I've tried it with other stones but that one just feels right. Sometimes instead of holding it in my hands it likes to sit by my feet while I meditate.

And felt a pulsing through my body, and felt very aware of my energy body. Then poof! Gone. This was the piece of moldavite that I picked up at a rock shop 90 miles away while I was waiting on the pendant to arrive in the mail. Patience in regards to things I'm excited about has never been my strong point.

Here's the newest member of my crystal family:






The red on the points I believe is iron ore. I can give it an acid bath to clean that off. Lovely Chevron quartz.

One piece was loose, and has become my carrystone from this particular cluster. Another piece is loose, and could potentially become the meditation stone as well. I'm undecided on if I'm going to clean it as the red look is really unique.

And just another piece of advice for all, effort to find a slab of marble to place your treasures on. You can get true marble tiles very cheaply. trying to buy large counter top pieces will be extremely expensive. Don't bother going to places that manufacture countertops to see if you can buy scrap pieces because they usually do not sell scraps without first milling them to avoid selling someone a sharp edged item that could cause serious harm.

It is well known that marble has high absorption properties and can actually contain the energies of other stones and crystals within it. A marble exposed to many such connections would increase in its own energy over time and exposure.

Thanks for this piece of advice. I have a few thin slabs of marble from my grandparents' home. They'd lived there 50 yrs and their home had an amazing feel to it. I know grandpa is one of my guides. Now I know what to do with these marble slabs.

I have a Black Tourmaline that works well for grounding. I also have a big chunk of Obsidian which is good for grounding too, but can also be a bit rough in the way it mirrors blockages back to you.

Smokey quartz will almost always be the best option, but it's a bit more expensive. Black Kyanite is very nice as well. Combining a stone with a simple visualization exercise greatly enhances the effect.

I love using black crystals (black tourmaline is really super) for grounding and protection. Usually I buy crystals at the new age store nearby bc I like to touch them before I adopt them (or they adopt me) and bc I know they get really good quality stuff.
