Illuminati STS, STO or both?

Ik know the term Illuminati means enlightenment, but it is generally asociated with evil (STS) (according people like David Icke etc). What is Illuminati really, are they perhaps split in 2 factions (STO and STS)? Wikipedia doesn't much help me.

It is an idea, a word, that is used by various groups to define themselves in a way that they feel is both representative of their beliefs and perception of themselves. It is the same kind of self-labeling that is common to many religious sects. There are different groups claiming to be the "true" Illuminati which was a Bavarian secret society in the late 1700s.

Part of the key to understanding this idea of "enlightenment" is that it is NOT the kind of enlightenment that is attributed to christ or buddha, although there are groups now who call themselves Illuminati and make this claim, but in actuality the "Enlightenment" is actually the time when, just coming out the dark ages, the rational, scientific mind was beginning to emerge and become powerful, and more freedom was beginning to become available as the church was being challenged. Thus, the kind of enlightenment strived for by the illuminati is the light of the rational mind, or inquiry and rigorous examination. It is these methods they use to perpetuate their "science of enlightenment" which seeks to place the powers of God in to the hands of Man.

As I understand it the beliefs of the "original" Illuminati are basically Luciferian.

As to whether or not they are STS or STO, I believe that would depend on the individual and their chosen use of power that is available to them through their knowledge and awareness.

Idealized forms of social courtesy have never been my thing. Ambiguous pretention is only relevant in the face of true loss. If what I say does not resonate, feel free to leave it.

I won't quell my desire to ease the fear surrounding secret societies in the name of nominal politeness. Secrecy is the right of any sentient being if it so desires it.

Secrecy is empowering but that does not mean it is solely evil. It has its purposes especially in regards to free will.

If I'm keeping something secret to preserve someone's free will, I generally don't broadcast that I know said secret. Kind of defeats the purpose.
