I found it interesting when the interviewee spoke on his research in the psychology of extremism (in religious ideologies) and that the main reason was due to the third pillar of religious motivation (sense of control in one's life). The other two pillars are a search for meaning and community. He also speculated that it is also this desire for a sense of control that can lead to extremism in socio-political ideologies (when people turn it into a religion). I find it pretty consistent with the LOO.
