Actually I see none of those themes as being particularly related to any concepts newly introduced in the Ra Material or any contemporary channeling. They are more in line with rather generic Buddhist tradition, although there are other movies which address the same themes in story form (like The Fountain). The book, The Glass Bead Game comes to mind as well.
