Yes the scientific method is not properly applied and the reason is... money! It always seems to come back to money doesn't it? Sometimes I feel that I could put all of our issues on the back of money, but I think it's important that we take our share of responsibility in it.
Anyway, nowadays science is not even done most of the time. They just take the results of epidemiological studies and applies them as facts.
