Looking left is to look to, or to see, the negative.
The feet facing left is movement in the negative direction.
With that in mind, having the left leg forward while facing forward is traveling within duality, not indicating movement towards either polarity.
And yet, there are instances of looking and facing left which are only markers of a place upon the path of spiritual evolution. One such is the magician in card one of the tarot directionally faces and looks to the left, indicating the beginning of the third density experience must begin in the negative. It is magically becoming aware (the wand) and active overlooking the third density illusion of duality, represented by the checkered box. (That part I think many miss.
Shaman stones (also known as Moqui Stones or Marbles) exhibit the same qualities as the rods, improvement of the flow of Yin/Yang energies, and cost much less. A good set of shaman stones should cost about $40 to 60. Smaller less expensive ones are readily available, but do not channel as much energy and will not be as effective as full sized stones (2" to 2.5").
Here's an eHow on shaman stones.
