I think that depends on whether there's a trade-up option, or a return policy, or a way to sell a fairly-new, somewhat-used machine for a good price. If any of those apply, then there's really nothing to lose to get the basic machine and when more money comes in, move up to the better machine.
That's a good idea!
Anyone out there willing to buy the first machine when there is enough funds for the better one? I live too far away otherwise I would.
On second thought, it could be useful for us readers and members, that Monica let us know which amount the fundraising reached on a day to day basis - or every other day -, in case some of us wish to make a last minute further donation just to get the BETTER.
