But now I feel I need to strengthen my desire to serve, to meditate, to be healthy, to test myself and overcome obstacles. I'ma bit split between the buddhist idea of slaying craving, the Taoist idea of "do nothing (wu wei)", and the realization of a natural desire to serve and reflect the beauty of the creator.
Perhaps you should choose one method at a time and try them one after another, in order to understand your self, to see what resonates with you most? Perhaps it's time consuming and there is impatience, but it's crucial to understand the true desire of the self, in order to move forward, in my opinion. Otherwise one continues to be split, not knowing how to proceed on the path, as the self is not known to the self, thus the work is not done in consciousness, and the true desire of the self is not revealed to the self.
