Sometimes I ask for archangel michaels protection as well. And I also call upon the creator for a radiant circle of love/light to fall around me so that should a being with negative intent hit it they will be shown love and light :-) and a few things here and there.(I don't know why this sentence is here? Lol I really don't. But I'll leave it in 
) But one(there is one more I can think of but it would take way to much explaining ) of the only things I ever ask for in terms of protection is archangel michael. The others are really more for others benefit. :-)
