So what perpetuates the difficulty? As far as I can tell, this suffering is due to an unacknowledged or mistrusted Self. This mistrust necessarily prevents an honest approach that's innately, fully capable of receiving an answer to any question.
In the grand scheme of things, you already are the answer, yet this part of you that can answer (that already IS the answer) is still unconscious. So, in the dark, lacking an understanding of the (actual) question (and the relevant part of ourselves), we must then project something of the question onto everything we come in contact with and relate to. This creates a vaccuum-of-expectation dynamic with the universe - a "call", vague apprehension, an attraction, a predisposition, etc. The always forthcoming "answer" can be symbolic, allegorical, metaphorical, an epiphany, a synchronistic event, etc. But such an answer can only address that which had been asked or there'd be some free will deprivation.
