There seems to be infighting between different groups...(look at former FMI chief "ala Assange arrest"). The problem with the EU is that it was mainly based on the euro, it did not deepen/promote social cultural ties between nation-states. You cannot base something like that on economic areas. Moreover, if it is based on money, the banks/bankers/corporations (elites) will "win", and will promote/ do what benefits themselves.
